Members of the Doug Yates Karate Team Qualify for USA Nationals 

Members of the Competition Team from Doug Yates Karate School competed this weekend at the USA National Karate-do Federation (USA-NKF) Regional Qualifiers. 

The USA-NKF is the National Governing Body for the sport of Karate in the United States and is the official Olympic sanctioned organization representing the USA on the International Olympic Committee. A USA-NKF athlete has garnered every World Championship Medal won by the United States in the last 15 years.


The 9 students competing from the Doug Yates Karate School, won 10 Gold, 7 Silver, and 6 Bronze medals in their respected age and experience divisions. Students competed in Kata (Forms), Kobudo (Weapons), and Kumite (Sparring).
