“Our 6 athletes who qualified for this Year’s Nationals by winning at the State Championship took a total of 19 Medals - 9 Gold, 5 Silver and 5 Bronze. I am very excited and proud of my team”. Said Doug Yates. “They did an amazing job”. Assistant Coaches Tim Wilson and D.J. Yates have done an outstanding job preparing them for the state championships and now it’s time to prepare for the Nationals”.
Results from the State championship are as follows:
Raegan French competing in the 10 Year Old Intermediate Division took the Gold in Short Weapon Kata, Silver in Long Weapon Kata and Bronze in Kata.
Brittany Lawson competing in the 13 year old Beginner Female took 4 Gold Medals! (Long Weapon, Short Weapon, Kata and Kumite).
Timothy Wilson competing in the 12 year old Beginner Male won Gold in Kata and Bronze Medals in Long Weapons and Kumite.
Mason Adkins competing in the 8 year old Beginner Male won Gold Medals in Kata and Long Weapons and Silver in Kumite. (Grandson of Doug Yates)
Arison Boswell competing in the 6 year old Beginner Female won Gold Medal in Long Weapon and Silvers Medals in Kata and Kumite.
Mason Bolton competing in the 6 year old Beginner Male won Silver in long Weapons and Bronze in Kata and Kumite.
